John Leggate

Six years ago, John Leggate was diagnosed with cancer and given just months to live. He sold his store in Minneapolis, planned his funeral and spent what he thought would be his last days with his family.

Here we are today... and John Leggate is still with us. The doctors say that they have never seen anything like it and that he is truly a miracle. John's attitude and amazing spirit and will to live should be an example for all of us to follow.

In the years since his diagnosis, John has never said anything negative about his life or what the future might hold for him. He continues to stay extremely active in the Coon Rapids North Star Lion's Club and numerous city organizations despite his medical struggles. He was instrumental in putting together the new Club several years ago and has worked tirelessly since that time to insure that the club shines in the community-all while battling health issues. John will turn any negative situation into a good one and is thankful everyday for what he has been blessed with. John is an inspiration for anyone who he comes into contact with for his mere outlook on life. He makes us all realize that you can never take life for granted because you never know when it is truly your last day.
